Jean Amado, french sculptor born in Aix-en-Provence in 1922, was a ceramist at his beginnings. In the 1960's, he began to sculpt monumental works of art. First they were made in terracotta, then in a material created by himself, allowing him to sculpt, disassemble and reassemble the different pieces of his works.

Enamelled panels, sculptures or fountains are nowadays installed on public squares and monuments in Alger, Lyon, Marseille, Paris, Evry, Valenton or Aix-en-Provence.
